The UN Mission for the Stabilization of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Monusco) announced on Wednesday an assessment mission to Central Kasai province, where, unfortunately, repeated violent clashes are reported between The police and militiamen of Traditional Chief Kamwina Nsapu.

« This situation in Luiza is very worrying. We learned that there would be about forty killed … Given this rather alarming information, Monusco decided to deploy an assessment mission tomorrow [Thursday] to take stock of the situation, » Said Col Felix-Prosper Basse, spokesman for the UN mission.

He made this declaration at the weekly press conference of the UN mission in the DRC.
This part of the DRC is plagued by the multiple clashes between Congolese soldiers as well as police and the supporters of a deceased Traditional chief, Kamwina Nsapu in the territory of Luiza, a Angolan border in central Kasaï province.
