Local officials in Goma confirmed a Ugandan islamist rebel group, the Allied Democratic Forces are responsible for the latest attacks carried out in Eringeti, North Kivu of the Democratic Republic of Congo. For the past two years there has been a wave of violence in the region that has left more than 700 civilians dead; the attack is said to have been carried out using knives and machetes, a trademark killing method used by the ADF militia.
